Wildcats Top Mustangs 1-0 in NEAC Women’s Soccer Matchup

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Women's Soccer team traveled to Cazenovia College on Saturday afternoon for the annual Route 20 rivalry matchup.  Unfortunately the Mustangs were on the losing side of the battle, dropping the decision 1-0. 

With the win, Cazenovia College improves to 9-8-1 overall and 6-5 in the NEAC, while Morrisville drops to 6-8-1 overall and 5-7 in conference play. 

Cazenovia pounded the Mustang defense with 21 shots, 13 of which were on goal. Jorden Lidell broke through for the Wildcats in the 76th minute of action for the lone goal. 

Despite recording 8 shots on goal of their own, Morrisville was unable to find the back of the net. 

Angela Marriott (Peekskill, N.Y.) suffered the tough luck loss despite recording 12 saves in the match. 

The Mustangs will wrap up their 2016 season next weekend as they host Wells College in a NEAC contest.  The team will honor their seniors before the 1 PM start.  In addition, the final game will be a benefit game for the Mustangs as they raise money for the organization, Soccer without Borders.
