Morrisville State women conclude season with 3-0 shut out over Wells on Senior Day

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women's soccer team posted three first half goals in the season finale Saturday afternoon to top visiting Wells College in a 3-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) decision on Drake Field in Morrisville.

The Mustangs conclude the season with a 7-8-1 overall record, finishing 6-7 in conference play. Wells drops to 9-7-1 with the loss, 6-6-1 in NEAC action.

Morrisville State got on the board a mere three minutes into the game as defender Brianna Delcolle (Huntington, N.Y.) cleaned up the corner kick sent in by Jessica Adam (Avoca, N.Y.) for the first tally of the contest.

Midway through the half, the Mustangs added another as Kelly Brennan (Sauquoit, N.Y.) one-timed the rebound save off Wells keeper Karlie Maloney for the 2-0 host lead. Ashley Capron (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) recorded the assist.

Within minutes Brennan struck again, blasting the ball past Maloney from the top of the box on a breakaway downfield.

Senior goalkeeper Angela Marriott (Peekskill, N.Y.) registered her 15th career shutout in the win, turning away five.

Maloney posted the loss, making four stops, before Quinn Doubet turned away five in the final 62 minutes of the contest.
