Morrisville State women outlast Cazenovia, 1-0   

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women's soccer team downed Cazenovia College in the 2017 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opener Saturday evening on Drake Field in Morrisville.

With the win, the Mustangs improve to 1-5-0 overall, 1-0-0 in NEAC action.

Both teams battled back and forth to a scoreless stalemate through nearly 57 minutes of action until a breakaway chip by midfielder Jessica Adam (Avoca, N.Y.) past Cazenovia College goalkeeper Alyssa Conolly gave the Mustangs the one goal advantage.

The Wildcats kept up a persistent offensive attack at net, but Morrisville State keeper Brianna Sorriento (Wynantskill, N.Y.)

Sorriento finished with six saves in the win for the Mustangs.

Lauren Gee registered three saves in the first half, before being replaced by Conolly in the second. Conolly collected one save in the loss.

Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, traveling to Keuka College for a 6 p.m. NEAC contest.
