LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Kelly Brennan (Sauquoit, N.Y.) posted her first hat trick of the 2017 season Sunday, including the game winner, as she led visiting Morrisville State College past host Lancaster Bible College by a 4-2 final in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play in Lancaster.

The win is the third straight for the Mustangs, and the fourth in five games, as they improve to 6-8-1 on the year, posting a program best 6-2-1 conference stint. Morrisville State has just one game remaining on the regular season schedule, a showdown with crosstown rival SUNY Poly, who currently sits just one game ahead of the Mustangs in league standings.

Brennan posted the first tally of the day in the 26th minute to break the scoreless contest, netting the free shot from the top of the box inside the left post, to give the visitors the 1-0 lead.

Minutes before half, Lancaster Bible would even the score at one, getting the equalizer at the 42:08 mark to send the game into the break knotted at one.

Jessica Adam (Avoca, N.Y.) gave the Mustangs the one goal edge just four minutes into the second half, off an assist from Brenna, before Brennan notched her second in the 55th minute for a two goal advantage off the rebound from a free kick.

Lancaster Bible was able to get one back moments later, but Brennan put the game out of reach with her second unassisted, and third score of the day at the 65:06 mark, on a rifle from the top of the box into the right side of the net.

Brianna Sorriento (Wynantskill, N.Y.) recorded the win in net, saving four.

Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, traveling to SUNY Polytechnic for a 7 p.m. NEAC showdown.
