GORHAM, M.E. – Despite a 2-2 deadlock score heading into halftime, the Morrisville State women's soccer team dropped a 5-2 decision to host, Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon in the 2018 USM Women's Soccer Invitational. Sophomore forward, Shay Franklin (North Norwich, NY) notched her second goal of the season 23' into the first half, but Southern Maine scored three unanswered goals in the second half to earn the win.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Sophomore forward, Jessica McGee (Lebanon, CT) put the Mustangs on the board, tying the game at 1-1 after ripping a shot from the top of the box 19' into the first half.
- Southern Maine responded quickly, scoring their second goal of the contest 13 seconds later. Their lead was short lived when Franklin collected a loose ball in the box in the 23' and recorded her second goal on the weekend.
- Senior goalkeeper, Brianna Sorriento (Wynantskill, NY) posted 12 saves on the afternoon, before freshman keeper, Lydia Young (Cuyler, NY) stepped in to play the final 16' of the game, making three saves and allowing one goal.

The Mustangs return to action at 7:00pm on Wednesday when they hit the road to take on SUNY Canton.
