Strong Serving Lifts Mustangs Past Wolves 3-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Women's Volleyball team defeated Keuka College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) matchup on Wednesday night 3-0.

The Mustangs were pushed to the brink in every set as Keuka matched them stat for stat in nearly every offensive category.  However, a strong Morrisville serve game, combined with a handful of Keuka ball handling errors proved to be the difference maker in the critical conference victory.

Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) led the way for the Mustangs, recording 11 kills and delivering five of the team's 11 aces.

Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) also provided Morrisville with a strong serving effort, picking up three aces while not committing a service error.  Wolf also contributed seven digs to the defensive effort.

The Mustangs will take a weekend off before returning to the court for a pair of NEAC matches on the road on Saturday, October 14.  Morrisville will square off against Penn State Abington and Wilson College at a North-South Division cross-over held at Gallaudet University.

Morrisville State College's curricula are enriched with applied learning and pave the way for opportunity at both the Morrisville and Norwich campuses.
