Merrill tagged NEAC Offensive Player of the Week for second time  

 

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has released its weekly award winners, naming Morrisville State's Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for a second time this season, for the week ending Sept. 23.

Merrill led Morrisville State to a 3-0 week within conference action, moving the Mustangs into the top of the NEAC standings with a 4-0 record.

She began the week with a 17 kill, 11 dig outing against Wells College in the 3-1 match win, averaging 4.25 kills per set while hitting .417 from the floor. She followed with a 12 kill, 12 dig and one ace performance in the 3-0 defeat of Penn St. Berks, averaging 4.0 kills per set while hitting .733.

Merrill wrapped up the weekend with a six kill, eight dig match in the 3-0 dominating win over Penn College. On the week the junior averaged 3.50 kills per set after collecting a three game total 35, while hitting .508 from the floor. She added 31 digs total, 3.10 per set, while collecting a total 37 points.

Merrill is a graduate of Horseheads High and is majoring in applied psychology at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Melissa and Doug Merrill of Millport.
