MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2018 individual award winners and All-Conference selections in the sport of women's volleyball Wednesday, naming Morrisville State head coach, Fred Wallace, the Coach of the Year, as voted by his peers.

Wallace guided Morrisville State to their first NEAC regular season title topping all competition with an undefeated record of 11-0, and have earned the right to host the upcoming NEAC tournament as the top seed.

The Mustangs have posted a 23-6 overall record to date, and over the course of Wallace's last three seasons at the helm of the program has collected a record of 68 wins and 24 losses, while making three appearances in the NEAC tournament.

Last season Wallace guided Morrisville State to their first NEAC Championship Tournament title, making their first appearance in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.

Under his direction this season alone, Wallace has coached four all-conference team selections, and player of the year selections in Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) and Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.).

"Together Sam and Megyan have put up numbers that are astonishing and both their names are all over our record book," Wallace said.

"However, it is their drive to be the best teammates they can that inspires and impresses me.  Both honors are well deserved and I know they are humbled by them and thankful for the coaches of the NEAC recognizing their accomplishment."

"To say that I am blessed by this team and these amazing players is an understatement for sure."

"Our Mustang Family has, for the last three years, continued to march forward to put Morrisville State Volleyball on the map."

"ALL of the team members, Lena Hanes, Kim Dunkleman, Christina Grippin, Elly Crittenden, Amelia Baratier, Megyan Merrill, Sam Wolf, Anna Salamino, Maggie Kianka, Kirsten Florio, Jillian Hoffman and Hailey Morris all contribute and give so much to this programs success.  I am so proud of the work this team has put forth, every-day they show up to improve and become a better team and more importantly a stronger family!"

"They, along with recognition from my peers, make this award very humbling."
