Morrisville State women seventh at SUNY Poly short course invite  

 

MARCY, N.Y. – Morrisville State women's cross country opened the 2018 season Saturday morning on the road at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute short course invitational, compiling 171 team points to finish seventh overall in team standings.

Veteran Raylene Wade (Red Creek, N.Y.) paced the Mustang pack with her 30th overall finish in the field of 72 competitors, crossing the finish in 19:21.7.

Newcomers Sydney O'Dell (Manlius, N.Y.) and Anna Raymond (Newark, N.Y.) were seconds away from one another, finishing 49th and 50th overall, with times of 21:32.6 and 21:40, respectively.

Miranda Wright (Smyrna, N.Y.) scored fourth for the young Mustang squad with her 55th overall place finish, a time of 22:17.4, while Maura Hager (Binghamton, N.Y.) rounded out the top five for Morrisville State with a 58th overall finish in 23:41.5.

Morrisville State returns Cobleskill next Saturday, stepping to the line for an 11 a.m. start.
