CLINTON, N.Y. – Morrisville State women's cross country had five runners finish in under 27 minutes Saturday as they took home a seventh place team finish after being led by senior Raylene Wade (Red Creek, N.Y.) at the Hamilton College Invitational in Clinton.

THE BASICS:

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • 87 total runners and 9 teams took part in the event with Grace Heller (Hamilton) capturing the individual title in 18:27.8, and hots Hamilton College the team title with 33 points, placing all five scoring runners in the top 10.
  • Senior Raylene Wade (Red Creek, N.Y.) paced the Mustangs with a time of 21:07.0 to lead the team scoring with her 25th place finish.
  • Sydney O'Dell (Manlius, N.Y.) was second to cross in 23:41.9, a 36th individual finish.
  • Anna Raymond (Newark, N.Y.), Miranda Wright (Smyrna, N.Y.) and Maura Hager (Binghamton, N.Y.) finished in 44th, 46th and 49th positions with times of 25:37.5, 25:54.1 and 26:22 respectively to round out team scoring.
  • All Mustangs scoring dropped between 30 seconds and a minute off last week's times as they pick up the pace as the head towards the NEAC Championships at the end of the month.

WHAT'S NEXT:

  • Morrisville State will head West to the CCOC Championships hosted by Hobart/William Smith in Geneva Saturday, Oct. 13. The start gun goes off at 11 a.m.
