Morrisville State drops road affair despite collegiate best outing by freshman keeper


NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Morrisville State field hockey team dropped a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) road decision Saturday afternoon to host SUNY New Paltz, despite a collegiate best performance by freshman goalkeeper Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.).

  • New Paltz outshot the Mustangs 30 to one in the opening half, with freshman goalkeeper Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.) recording 16 of her game total 29 stops on the day.
  • Dueber posted a collegiate high 29 saves, the most for a Mustang goalkeeper in a single game since prior to the 2011 season.
  • Morrisville State's lone score of the contest came from Heather Cummings (Akron, N.Y.) who lifted the corner shot over New Paltz keeper Jamie Owens in the second half of action.
  • New Paltz scored three times over a span of 10 minutes in the first half, and added four additional tallies in the second to claim the win. Two of their scores came within seconds of one another in the 45th minute of play.


  • Morrisville State will head to Keuka on Wednesday, Oct. 3 for a 4 p.m. North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match up.
